Medical Education
One of UTCI’s primary missions is to educate the oncologists of tomorrow and to continue to move towards the goal of eradicating cancer.
The UT Cancer Institute provides a large volume of patients with diverse diagnoses and a model of multidisciplinary care which is best provided in an academic setting, where the treatment team consists of medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, other specialists, social workers, nutritionists, and expert genetic counselors. In addition, UTCI fellows can see cases that are not available everywhere – a rare mix of a downtown patient population, veterans, suburbanites, and a rural population.
Quite simply, if you train at UTCI, you will become one of the most versatile oncologists in the country.
